Pickup Overview
IronGear set out to build a no-nonsense classic-rock pickup. Clarity was the absolute priority, paired with a warm midrange and a tight bottom end.
It delivered exactly that — but the Rolling Mill has since been used for far more than just classic rock. Its versatility comes from the sheer musicality of its output. One of IronGear's most popular pickups since 2007, with an optional overwound bridge variant introduced in 2009 for those who want a hotter front end.
Available in Chrome, Nickel, Raw Nickel, Gold, Black or Zebra, with each colour available in standard or overwound bridge.

What Players Are Saying
"Beautiful PAF tone with that articulate midrange — they really do make a Les Paul sing. The overwound bridge gets you into hot-PAF territory without losing clarity." — Les Paul player
"Workhorse pickup. Cleans are clear, mids are warm, and they take pedals beautifully. Easily as good as much pricier humbuckers I've owned." — Studio session player
"Fitted Rolling Mills to my Tokai Love Rock — total vintage with some extra power. Never has my LP sounded like this." — Graeme, Leeds
"Rolling Mills are fantastic — totally saved a guitar I hadn't picked up for years. They have a sweet, controlled tone that's impossible to get from a budget pickup." — Joe, Exeter
"In my Heritage 535 the Rolling Mill in the neck is the most subtle and detailed sound of any guitar I've owned. Beautiful arpeggio detail." — Heritage 535 owner
"Really versatile — I've used the Rolling Mill for blues, jazz, classic rock and even modern indie. The musicality of its output is what sets it apart." — Pro session guitarist
