Tip 1: You can use 500K or 250K pots on any guitar with passive pickups (i.e. not battery powered). 500K systems are more common. 250K pots give a slightly "darker" sound.
Tip 2: You can use .047uF or .022uF capacitors. .047uF values are more often used with single coils as they have a greater range ang can help to tame some of the brightness associated with these pickups. a .022uF are more often used with humbuckers, but the 2 types are interchangeable to taste.

1. 10MM COLLAR Switched pots are suitable for most guitars including almost all Epiphones.
2. You will need 4-wire humbuckers.
3. Pickup manufacturers use differing colour codes for their pickups. We supply a diagram showing the correct colours for IronGear pickups and may be able to assist with identifying the colour codes for your pickups. In most cases, we are able to email a diagram showing the correct colours for your installed pickups.
4. NOW OFFERED WITH THE OPTION OF excellent quality switched potentiometer with "PUSH-PUSH" DPDT. HARD TO FIND!
These pots are superb in operation and much slicker to operate (especially when playing live!). One push brings the switch to the "out" position, a second push toggles to the "In" position. No more sweaty fingers slipping off tapered knobs!

Note: These pots feature a more robust 9.5mm diameter collar. This may require the holes in your guitar/scratchplate to be "eased" slightly with a some rolled sandpaper (very easily done!). They are compatible with all knobs on our Knob page. (i.e. Standard 6mm, 18 spline, split-shaft).
